Author Description:
Charles Dougherty wrote quite a bit of fiction before publishing Deception in Savannah, his first novel. Most of his earlier fiction works took the form of business plans, written to secure funding for projects and startup ventures during his corporate and consulting work, but he put all that behind him when he wrote Deception in Savannah, a tongue-in-cheek crime novel.

Since Deception in Savannah was published, he has written a number of other books. The Bluewater Thrillers are set in the yachting world of the Caribbean and chronicle the adventures of two young women running a luxury charter yacht in a rough-and-tumble environment. The Connie Barrera Thrillers are also set in the Caribbean and feature some of the same characters from a slightly more romantic perspective. Besides the Bluewater Thrillers and the Connie Barrera Thrillers, he wrote The Redemption of Becky Jones, a psycho-thriller, and The Lost Tourist Franchise, a short story about one of the characters from Deception in Savannah.

He has also written two non-fiction books. Life's a Ditch is the story of how he and his wife moved aboard their sailboat, Play Actor, and their adventures along the east coast of the U.S. Dungda de Islan' relates their experiences while cruising the Caribbean.

He resides with his wife aboard Play Actor, sailing wherever their fancy and the trade winds take them.

Author: Alison Golden

GET DEAL at Amazon

Murder. Mayhem. A madcap lady vicar.

Reverend Annabelle Dixon is the charming, slightly gauche, very tall, thirty-something vicar of St. Mary’s Church located in the picturesque village of Upton St. Mary in Cornwall, England.

Recently appointed to her rural church position, Annabelle is beloved by her parishioners for dispensing good advice and godly wisdom with humor and charm while zipping her Mini Cooper around the country lanes and attempting to build a relationship with her church cat, Biscuit, who, quite frankly, couldn’t care less.

Trouble arises when Annabelle faithfully welcomes a new resident to her quaint parish. Her visit to the latest newcomer, Sir John Cartwright, is two-fold: to greet him and to dispel rumors of shady doings at the manor. This time, however, instead of tea and cakes, Annabelle is served a heaping plate of murder and a fine helping of handsome Inspector Mike Nicholls!

Filled with laugh-out-loud moments and cake and pastry recipes, this humorous, cozy mystery is an excellent introduction to the Reverend Annabelle Dixon series.

Author Description:
I've been writing ever since I could hold a pencil, but I didn't start writing books until the year after my second child was born. At that point, I asked myself: if not now, when? And I closed up my freelance video business to focus on my writing.

In the twenty odd years since then, I've written two non-fiction books (including BIRTHMOTHERS: Women who relinquished babies for adoption tell their stories), five humor books (including I LOVE HIM, BUT...) and, as of 2014, eleven suspense novels (including OUTSIDE EDEN, ELECTIVE PROCEDURES, THE TROUBLE WITH CHARLIE, WINTER BREAK, BEHIND THE WALLS, SUMMER SESSION, THE BORROWED AND BLUE MURDERS, THE DEADLY NEIGHBORS, THE RIVER KILLINGS, THE NANNY MURDERS).

My favorite writing is about the shady area between reality and perception, where people can't be sure of what they're sensing and concluding. I like putting "normal" characters into unexpected situations where they confront shadows and have to feel their way toward the truth, no matter how dangerous or frightening it may be.
